Dunedin

A university city of Scottish heritage, Dunedin possesses a unique combination of cultural riches, fine architecture, and world-famous wildlife reserves. Situated on the south eastern coast, Dunedin has a population of around 120,000 and is the main centre of Otago, a region recognised for its spectacular scenery. The sheer physical beauty of Dunedin - dramatic bush-covered hills and valleys at the head of a long natural harbour - attracted Maori settlers to the site over four centuries ago. The University of Otago takes its name from the beautiful southern province of Otago. Within an hour's drive of the university campus, students can explore some of the region's and New Zealand's most spectacular scenic and outdoor attractions. It's ideal for day trips to any of the southern lakes and to high mountain valleys, rivers and secluded beaches. In contrast to Dunedin's moderate coastal climate, the inland region of Central Otago enjoys extreme seasons that allow snow sports in the winter and water sports in summer.

Queenstown

Spectacular Queenstown, one of the most popular holiday destinations in New Zealand for international visitors.  Regarded by many as the adventure capital of New Zealand, it offers an incredible range of things to do no matter what the season.  The area has four distinctive seasons feature long summer twilights (December-March) and brilliant autumn colors (April-May), some of the world's best skiing and snowboarding conditions in winter and early spring (June-September).

The internationally renowned resort of Queenstown in Central Otago is just three or four hours by car from Dunedin. Nestled on the shores of Lake Wakatipu it is surrounded by magnificent mountains and rich farmland. Here you can ski, snow board, parapent, jetboat, go white-water rafting and bungy jumping.  For further information, check out   http://www.queenstown-nz.co.nz/
